Learn how the Work and Income referral process integrates with the Building Financial Capability sector
This course uses MSD material to explain their referral practice from the BFC sector perspective.
We will acknowledge the shared history of the budgeting movement with government support and the different types of referral systems that have been used previously. Note: If you’re keen to get to the new referral process, you can simply skip the background lessons.
Then we’ll look in-depth at how the current referral system has been established, including some practical examples.
The course will finish with some discussion of ways to resolve issues that you might see when receiving referrals in practice, and develop a positive ongoing relationship with your local Work and Income office.
